There’s a difference between “Cruel” and “Fair”. The Universe, and the Human Condition within its laws, are so unbelievably, fully “Fair”, that they look Cruel.
The cards are dealt with relation to its laws. These laws are inviolable. They are dealt so well, so consistently, that the hands of God / Universe dealing them seem almost cruel.
How could it be this way?
There is a difference between what gets dealt (the Cards produced), and the Rules that guide them.
The rules are fair. The cards being dealt follow the rules. Cruelty, is a subjective response to the cards being dealt.
Imagine you are applying to a University. And at the time of applying, the University has a very clear biased objective to have more doctors from Abroad, that have faced disadvantaged childhoods.
I have a friend let’s just call him U-Z, that got into Med School in this way. Did he work hard? Of course! Did he get in at the young age of 20? Yup. In any other circumstance, this was absolutely an impossible feat to accomplish.
If he looked at his childhood, and remembered the bits where he was discriminated against, those cards would seem absolutely cruel.
Then he got into University in this way, where essentially his life was guaranteed - the banks sure thought so, they gave him over 100k in a Line of Credit with only the Acceptance Letter Paper!
Now is it fair? Or is it cruel?
The word Fairness evokes a sense of Positivity. Not at all. Fairness means one man works an hour, and he gets paid 20$, the other works 4 hours, and gets 80$.
When you are on the positive side of the Handout (what is Given), nobody is complaining. Almost relishing in their ‘luck’, or ‘specialness’, the one loved and adored by God.
But the moment the tides change, all of a sudden the same hand that fed them, is now a cruel master? Accept the rules. Be humble when you get a good Card, for the tides can soon change.
I’ll leave you with a few quotes that I’ve noticed in this Fair world.
“What is inside you, will soon come out.”
“The world is a mirror of you.”
“The world is a bathtub of clear water, and you are a drop of blue paint.”
“Deal with it whilst its small. Before it grows into a beast you can’t contain.”
“More is in your control than you can imagine.”
“You take responsibility for the wins, and blame others for your losses.”
“The Driver will soon be the master. The Renter soon the Landlord.”
