Main Fear of Exceptionalism is that you are afraid to be seen… You have to make a fool of yourself at the beginning when you are attempting something new. And you most likely suck at the start. So you are afraid to look bad…

There are further reasons why people do not wish to stray from their position.
Like Chess, any new position brings with it risks.
And for many, the risk is too much. They freeze, and they’d rather stay put.
But the new position might also bring Good things as well.
And remember, staying put, is still a choice. You are still making a move.
With every passing day, you are never the ‘same’.
Even your savings are dwindling. Your boss starts to hate you a bit more.
These are natural progressions.
So what is the fear then?
When you make the move and decide: “I will be exceptional.” you are afraid that others will know your desire.
“Look at that man over there yonder! He wishes to be Exceptional! Therefore, something MUST be wrong with him.”
Well brother, this is absolutely true! I am impoverished. I live a life without meaning and purpose. I am a Nobody in the Street, and at home I have little Respect.
“So you are True in what you say! You are a Nobody!”
Why yes. But aren’t we all? The majority of us live lives of Less. While some live lives of Excess. Does that not make you a tad curious? What its like? And why them? What if it is a competition of one vs. the other. And you are losing. Simply because you never tried?
“But I am good where I am!”
Contentment does not change the facts my friend.
So how does one Gain Ground?
Well 1) firstly we must understand the Fear around Exceptionalism.
What would you actually do if you Succeeded, like truly in your craft, and brought in millions. What would you actually do but shit bricks? Could you handle that level of WIN? Possibly. Most likely it would destroy you. And you would lose it all…
Next fear 2) is that you are afraid to be seen… You have to make a fool of yourself at the beginning when you are attempting something new. And you most likely suck at the start. So you are afraid to look bad…

Next fear 3) is that attempting to look foolish, you might lose your job. Well good riddance! You might lose what you already have. Screw it bro! Throw it to the wind! Have confidence in yourself that no matter WHAT HAPPENS you will be okay!
